Mission
Know where you could save before you pay.
At discharge you get a long bill, a policy you never read and very little time. Most people pay whatever is left without knowing if any of it was worth questioning. MedBud is the sanity check for that moment.
Who it is for
The person in the family who ends up handling the hospital bill and the insurance claim, usually standing at the billing desk with a bill of 50 or more lines and a policy PDF they never read.
What it does
- Reads your hospital bill and checks supported medicines and procedures against government reference prices (NPPA, Jan Aushadhi, CGHS). Each flag comes with its evidence and a question you can ask the billing desk.
- Summarises your insurance policy: room rent limit, co-pay, deductible, waiting periods, exclusions and sub-limits. You can ask it questions in English, Hindi or Hinglish, and every answer cites the page it came from.
- With both uploaded, it gives a rough idea of what the insurer should pay and what you will owe.
What it is not
MedBud does not diagnose, judge clinical care or decide that a charge is illegal. It gives you evidence and the right questions. AI reads and explains the documents, while prices come from government data and the insurance maths is done in code, so the numbers are not an AI guess.
Where it is going
A family health vault: bills, policies, claims and prescriptions in one place. The next time someone is admitted, MedBud already knows the policy, what has been claimed this year and what the last hospital charged for the same thing.

How we handle your documents
Hospital bills and policies are personal. This is what we collect, where it goes and what you can do about it.
What we collect
- Your email and password, to sign you in.
- The bills and policies you upload, plus the text and findings we extract from them.
- The questions you ask about a policy.
- Cookies that keep you signed in and remember your language.
Where it is stored
Your data lives with Supabase. Files go in a private storage bucket and each account can only read its own documents. Uploads are limited to PDF, JPG or PNG files up to 10 MB.
AI processing
To read a document and explain it, its text and your questions are sent to an AI model provider (currently Groq). Reference prices and insurance calculations are not done by the model.
What we do not do
- We do not show ads or use advertising or analytics cookies.
- We do not sell your documents.
Deleting your data
A delete-my-data option is being built. Until it ships, email us and we will remove your account and documents.
Not advice
Findings are observations worth asking about. They are not medical, legal or insurance advice, and a reference price is evidence to discuss, not a guarantee that money is recoverable.
